We have seen that character education is an educational process that should be ongoing , not produced in a short time and instant .
One character education is increasing discipline . What is the meaning of discipline ? Maybe we think that a lot of discipline is to punish people who ' undisciplined ' .
Yet disciplined if we look at history , the discipline comes from the Latin ' Disciplus ' meaning disciple or the way we give an example , the way we raise pupils . So discipline is a process that gradually train someone to have self control .
And to train them to have the self-control does not have the penalties . Punishment is just one way of many ways even the last way to impose discipline . But in our society the punishment is usually done in a way that the first application of discipline . Looks like this is wrong .
Okay , now we see more about the discipline , the discipline there are 2 types of negative discipline and positive discipline . What is meant by negative discipline is the discipline that gives effect lowers self-esteem of a person . And conversely positive discipline is discipline mebuat increasing one's self esteem .
Good discipline is self- discipline that makes someone will be lifted . Such as : Providing a good example , or if someone made a mistake , give a true example but do not beat .
If we apply the often negative discipline then someone will always feel guilty and eventually became self-conscious and do not want to hang out with other people ( negative social effects ) and this will endanger her life in the community .
To be able to deliver positive discipline , there are a variety of ways , namely :
1. By asking
It means asking someone to do something good doing explanation

3. Give direct instructions
This is done if the direct concerns to the dangerous . But be aware that direct instruction should involve an element of acknowledging feelings , understand the feelings , and then the new drive .
